Recently my friend asked Do You know what is Arnab Gosawmi's Salary ?
For those who don't know who Arnab Goswami is ? I would like to tell he is one of the anchor of Times Now news channel (of Bennett, Coleman and Company) and hosts news hour.
* The One who always sits facing his News Desk, with head slanting downwards.
* The One who keeps staring at camera with half of the eyelids going above like that of Ajay Devgan.
* The One who thinks if he didn't host the News Hour, The Earth will collapse that night.
* The One who thinks that he has more information than Amar Singh.
* The One who thinks that one day he will become Prime Minister of India by having series of high drama questions like Anil Kapoor in the movie 'Nayak'.
* The One who thinks that he is the one and only person who is not corrupted in the world.
* These same points I tell my friend and said,' See I didn't know any human being with these qualities so Who am I to guess Arnab Goswami's Salary ? '
My friend and I laughed for a minute and changed the topic !
If anyone in the world knows How Much Arnab Goswami is getting paid by Bennett, Coleman and Company , please mention in comment. I am yet to find an answer !!

DeleteIm sorry but he is not doing his job very well. Debates are meant to be a dignified way of expressing opinion. But on the wonderful Mr. Goswami's show, one can hear nothing but shouting, screaming and constant interruptions. Admitted, he does give a politician here and there a deserved verbal bashing but is it really necessary every single night? And all you people talking about 'analyzing the politics in India', I'd suggest you start analyzing the media in India. and i don't mean analyzing what comes at 9 pm every night. I mean how it functions and what role it supposed to play in society. And the times group itself isn't one of the most reliable sources of news information.

Really, a sad state of affairs when people criticize anyone who not only does some good work, but different work.

His show has not only set standards on how unbiased journalism is meant to be, but he has also some of the politicians sweat out and keep their actions in check as they all know that if they are not answerable to the Parliment, they certainly are answerable to Arnab Goswami.
This is what creative journalism is all about. If it is not for him, journalism would just be about reporting the facts the way it is. He is not just about 'The way it is', but he is about, 'Why is it the way it is'. Hats off to you Mr Goswami. Go ahead, we are with you.

Coming to the point rather than debating about unrealated topics....a close friend in HR in Times group tells me he has a contract per episode with Times Now which is around 2 Lakhs per episode of news hour...so around 40 Lakhs per month...These figures might not be very accurate..
